Burgdorf/St. Gallen, CH, 23. January 2008: SANITIZED AG, Pioneer and innovator in the area of anti-microbial hygiene and material protection for textiles and polymers, expands its high safety requirements for man and environment and announces the compliance with the bluesign® standard. In line with the ISPO in Munich (27 - 30 January 2008), SANITIZED will be introduced as new supporter of the international and independent industrial standards.
The bluesign® standard is a textile-industry standard and quality seal. It supplies end-consumers the assurance, that they are buying products, for which during their manufacturing, only materials that are environmentally, health and resource friendly were used in the whole production process. All applied components and processes are evaluated by bluesign® with regard to the aspects of consumer protection, waste water, discharged air, operational safety and resource productivity on the basis of toxicological and ecological data in a mathematical modeling. Textile producers can check for bluesign® conform components in the data bank „bluefinder“.
For over 50 years SANITIZED performs pioneer work and has established itself as a specialist for individual anti-microbial hygiene concepts. The original effect of Sanitized® exists in the anti-microbial protection. SANITIZED develops and produces innovative, dependable and safe solutions for hygiene and material protection (textile and polymer). Customers receive customized, ready-to-use anti-microbial additives. Depending on the intended use they offer protective functions against bacteria (also MRSA!), fungi, dust mites and odor.
Currently two Sanitized® products as well as two additives, which comply with the comprehensive bluesign® requirements have been registered under “bluefinder”.
1. Sanitized® T 99-19 is a successful product, which has been used internationally for many years, and is recommend especially for hygiene protection on textiles with constant and direct skin contact. This includes clothing, home textiles and bedding. The patented product with a high washing resistance shows excellent effects against MRSA. Recently, due to further developments the use of this product on synthetic fibers is possible.
2. Sanitized® Silver was developed for synthetic fibers, especially polyester – the preferred material for functional textiles in the sport and leisure sectors, but also for work clothes. It distinguishes itself through a high washing resistance. Up to 100 wash cycles at 60°C (EN ISO 6330:2000) are possible without inhibition of the hygienic function. The product can be applied without binder and is therefore particularly good for application on sensitive textiles, since the feel of the finished product is not impaired.
All Sanitized® products differentiate themselves through their dependability and innovative strength. SANITIZED uses only scientifically researched and registered anti-microbial active ingredients, which have undergone strict risk evaluations for man and environment according to internationally approved procedures. They are dermatologically tested and anti-allergenic. Depending on the application and market they are registered by all the relevant registration and registry offices (Ex. European Biocide Directive (BPD), US Environmental Protective Agency). During the over 50 year history of the Swiss company no claims whatsoever were submitted.
“With the bluesign® standard we emphasize our high principles and understanding of quality and accept the responsibilities for health, safety and the environment. The co-operation makes Sanitized® a preferred partner for companies, which entirely follow the approach according to bluesign®. It is our declared goal to successively put further Sanitized® products to the bluesign® test,” comments SANITIZED Marketing Manager, Urs Stalder, the decision to become a bluesign® supporter.
