Allergy UK / British Allergy Foundation

network_AllergyUKIn 1991, the British Allergy Foundation was formed by leading allergists to improve awareness, management and treatment. In 2002, the charity’s operational name changed to Allergy UK. Allergy UK is the leading national charity dedicated to supporting an estimated 21 million allergy sufferers in the UK.  We provide a dedicated helpline, support network and online forum for those with allergies and intolerance. We act as the ‘voice’ of allergy sufferers, representing those affected by this multi organ disease.

AmicorTM is an antimicrobial acrylic fiber, which incorporates the Sanitized® hygiene function within its structure. The antimicrobial additive is locked in the fiber’s structure preventing it from diffusing out, thereby offering very durable protection against bacteria and fungi on textiles. In addition the propagation of dust mites and their allergens is effectively inhibited.

The British Coating Federation

The British Coatings Federation is the sole UK Trade Association representing the interests of the decorative, industrial and powder coatings, printing inks and wallcovering manufacturers. Coatings are critical to UK industry, with 300,000 workers relying on our members’ products every day, and the UK is a net exporter of coatings and inks. BCF’s members represent 95% of the UK sales of coatings, inks and wall coverings.


The European Chemical Industry Council (cefic)

Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, founded in 1972, is the voice of large, medium and small chemical companies across Europe, which provide 1.1 million jobs and account for approximately about 15% of world chemical production.


The European Bedding Industries’ Association (EBIA)

The European Bedding Industries’ Association was created in January 2000. Its founding members are the national bedding associations of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands, and 3 multinational groups, i.e. Oniris, Recticel and Slumberland.

Hohenstein Institute

The Hohenstein Institute is an accredited test laboratory and research institute. Its work first and foremost involves the testing and certification of textiles. Besides these services, the institute offers research and development in the field of textile products and applications of all kinds relating to its core competencies. This includes not only contract-based research but also research projects with public funding. It additionally offers numerous further education courses and programmes aimed for example at industry, dealing with all issues throughout the textiles production chain.


International Antimicrobial Council (IAC)

The International Antimicrobial Council (IAC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of antimicrobials and odor-controlling technologies within industries where microbial contamination is of concern. To further this effort, IAC provides education to users of these technologies, participates in the development of test methods and standards, and certifies test laboratories, textile mills and odor-control technologies. The IAC establishes verification programs for the use of antimicrobials and odor-controlling technologies to protect the public from any potential misuse and manages quality assurance programs for retailers and brand name companies to assure consistent, reproducible performance from treated products.

The ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List

The ZDHC MRSL offers brands and suppliers a single, harmonised list of chemical substances banned from intentional use during manufacturing and related processes in supply chains of the textile, apparel, and footwear (including leather and rubber) industries (the Industry).
Version 2.0 applies to textiles, leather, rubber, foam and adhesives, recognising that these materials use different processes.
