At the end of January 2018, the global sports equipment industry will be coming together once again at the ISPO in Munich. It’s not just the hardware that’s grabbing the headlines, but also technologies for ever more ambitious performance goals in the field of textiles. Awards, open innovation through cooperation with start-ups and much more are on the agenda with the aim of stimulating the innovative force within this sector.

SANITIZED AG will be exhibiting an innovation at ISPO 2018, which was specially developed for polyester textiles. A new patented technology is used to counteract the problem of odor development in functional textiles made from polyester that are worn next to the skin. This eliminates the permanent odor (permastink) on functional textiles that is typically associated with sweat.

The unique factor in this successful breakthrough is the dual effect principle of the Sanitized® OA 10 product: The treatment alters the surface of the textile so that the bacteria cannot dock onto it and it simultaneously adsorbs odors that form when the garment is worn. The product is graded skin-friendly (Hohenstein Institute) and is also distinguished with the Eco Passport by OEKO-TEX®, registered under the bluesign® standard. The technology can be combined with other features for textiles and does not impair the feel or breathability of the garment; it also fulfills the demanding requirements of sustainable textile producers in the sportswear market.

The technology behind this feature has already been awarded the Swiss Technology Award.

This new dimension of in the Sanitized® odor-management solutions will be exhibited at the stand of our sales partner Archroma.
