Burgdorf/Switzerland, 2nd December 2014: SANITIZED AG, winner of the Swiss Technology Award 2013, can celebrate recognition of another product innovation. The ITMA future materials award in the “textiles for building and construction” category was presented to SANITIZED AG at the 8th Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference. The award went to a new antimicrobial technology for outstanding, UV-resistant mildew prevention on awnings and shade textiles.

Textiles that are used outdoors are exposed to extreme conditions. Protection against stains caused by mildew/mold growth and the resulting material fatigue had, until now, mainly been compromised by inadequate UV-resistance. With their new technology, developers at SANITIZED AG have been able to combine mold protection with high UV-resistance, increasing the lifespan of the protective function exponentially as a result. The company won the ITMA future materials award for this technology in Dresden on 26th November 2014. When they gave their reasons, the ITMA future materials award jury, made up of representatives from the manufacturing industry and research institutes, praised the breadth of possible applications in the textiles industry. The multitude of categories in which the company was nominated as a finalist shows that the innovative strength of SANITIZED AG also has an impact in other areas: “Best Innovation Textiles“, “Best Innovation Home Textiles“, “Most Innovative Medium-Size Company“.  The official launch of the new product Sanitized® TH 12-13 will be at the European Coating Show in April 2015. It will also be presented at Techtextil in May 2015.
